Vaping is a much newer occurrence than smoking, which means we’ve had less time to accumulated and decipher the real facts about vaping, but the immediate information we have provides some truths that cannot be ignored.
Vaping is Safer – According to numerous scientific and medical studies, inhaling vapor from e-cigarettes is far less harmful than inhaling cigarette smoke. In fact, an authority on the subject – Public Health England has come out publicly stating that e-cigarettes are about 95% less harmful than traditional cigarettes.
Vaping Cuts Back on Second Hand Smoke – Since you are inhaling a vapor, rather than smoke, not only is it safer for you, but also for those around you.

Is Vaping Safe?
We already mentioned that vaping is safer than smoking traditional cigarettes, but to call anything in this world outright safe is a little bit of an overreach. Since e-cigarettes are relatively new to the scene it is hard to confirm their long-term effects, but the news we have now in increasingly optimistic and only seems to confirm that vaping is far better than smoking.
In addition to being 95% less harmful, a 2017 study in the Annals of Internal Medicine, is beginning to help show the improved health of those using e-cigarettes versus those smoking the combustible version. The study reveals that former smokers who now vape are displaying significantly lower levels of toxic chemicals and carcinogens than what we see with those who are current smokers.
What Chemicals are Present in Cigarettes vs Vaping
We already know there are thousands of chemicals in cigarettes, from styrene, nitric acid, benzopyrene, chromium, lead, hydrogen cyanide, and multiple more we can’t pronounce, nor do we have the time to name them all here. Ingredients found in e-liquid, well that list is a little shorter. E-liquid contains only three main ingredients, nicotine, VG or PG, and flavoring, meaning you have a far better idea what you are inhaling than you do if you are smoking a traditional cigarette. While there have been some reports of harmful chemicals in e-cigarette vapor, often these studies are marred by unrealistic vaping conditions, creating a swarm of misinformation about what a vaper really inhales. When used as a directed with an good quality e-liquid from a reputable company, your risk of inhaling toxic chemicals is greatly lowered, and obviously significantly lower than what you see with cigarette smoke.
Do E-Cigarettes Explode?
You’ve heard on the news, so it shouldn’t be a surprise—e-cigarettes can explode, but let’s be clear it’s not the e-cigarette as much as it is the lithium ion battery. In most public places in the US, if smoking is prohibited, the use of vapes will be to. Fortunately, people in general are more accepting of vaping in public— and naturally so. Since second hand vapor only lasts for a few seconds and doesn’t carry the smell or carcinogens of tobacco smoke, you’ll find more non-vapers/nonsmokers tolerant of vaping. Since there is little smell and no continuous burning, you can discreetly use your vape and get right back to enjoying whatever your doing in your life.

While there is more of an initial startup cost with vaping, overall most vapers report saving money by switching to e-cigarettes. E-liquids are far cheaper than a pack of smokes. On average, in the US a pack of cigarettes costs between 6 and 8 dollars. E-liquid can range in price greatly, but on average it is much cheaper than what you would spend on cigarettes. A 10 mL bottle is equivalent to about 5 packs. Depending on the brand, quality and the quantity, you could end up saving a bundle. An average cost of a 10mL bottle is around $7.00—5 packs of cigarettes would cost around $35-40. The math really adds up, especially when you buy e-juice in bulk and save even more on your vape juice.
